A good mix of all, fairytale and to one extent, feminism. A girl living with a Dragon, and then there is good & evil fight, love and friendship. And was exactly what happened with Uprooted. Retelling of an age-old story is something I look forward to. I haven’t read Beauty and the Beast, but I know the story behind it, and once I started reading this one, I knew the subtle adaption surrounding it. Started listening to Uprooted a couple of days back, loved the entire idea of the plot line. That book genuinely has a special place in my heart. I have read Naomi Novik’s Spinning Silver, I really adored that book. For when the Dragon comes, it is not Kasia he will choose. ![]() But he demands a terrible price for his help: one young woman handed over to serve him for ten years, a fate almost as terrible as falling to the Wood.īut Agnieszka fears the wrong things. ![]() Her people rely on the cold, driven wizard known only as the Dragon to keep its powers at bay.
